Random Act of Kindness Day....O.K.!

Thursday, November 13, 2014

I woke this morning a little after 10, read a little, played on the tablet a little, and was getting up to get started on the rest of the chores (aka playing Happy Homemaker) when the phone rang.  It was my friend Bert, and since returning from her Florida vacation, she hasn't been able to find her keys.  She put them up in a safe place, and they are really safe.  But, she can't put gasoline into her car (lock gas cap) because of this, so she asked me if I could, and would run her places today.  I told her that I didn't have any plans today, and that I'd be happy to.  We made arrangements for me to pick her up in an hour or so - we both had things to do before starting the errands - and so the day started.  I finished taking my pills, took a shower, got dressed (warmly!), checked my banking on the pute, made my tea, and all the little things like that.

I got to her house, she got in the car, and off we went!  Luckily, she just had to run around Bethel doing these errands, so it wasn't really such a big deal.  Go to the bank, post office, her sister's, and then good ol' IGA.  She wanted to go have lunch at Gold Star before doing the shopping, because you know what they say about shopping on an empty stomach.  So - lunch it was.  It was her day, I was only the driver.  Her buying my lunch was the 'pay' for my driving her around, so I really couldn't argue too much.
After the shopping, I took her home, where I helped carry in the bags.  I didn't do too very much - she wouldn't let me - but I did help as much as I could.  Then I headed for home.  Ron texted me as I was on the way home, like he does every day.  Today, though, my answer was, "Me 2!"  Haha!  Thank God for back roads...

When I got home, I checked the mail, then here was Ron!  We got in the house, carrying in my groceries (yes, I bought a few), and got settled, then we watched Quantum Leap.  He made himself a frozen Chinese thing for his supper, but I wasn't hungry yet.  We watched QL until after 7, and there wasn't enough time for another whole episode.
At 8, I watched Bones, and while it was on, I made myself a can/bowl of chicken noodle soup for my supper.  It was probably pretty close to 9 when I finally made it.  Pretty late, but at least I did eat something for supper.  Then, time for football!!

Tomorrow, I will have to finish playing Happy Homemaker, and check all the groceries here, and make sure Ron will be okay while I am gone.  I also have to buy the rest of Thanksgiving Dinner, all but the perishable stuff, this weekend.  We both have to check our prescriptions, too.  So much to do!
All the little stuff...
