I woke this morning around 9:30, and just laid in bed reading and playing on my tablet until noon. Yay! Back to normal!
Ron was outside, putting the candles down the driveway, so it was pretty much a normal Saturday, except Corgan wasn't here. Once I got up, I did my weigh-in. I was very happy to see that I had LOST some weight - only .2 of a pound, but, by God, it's a loss! - and then I did another load of dishes. This is only about the fifth or sixth since Thursday. I will get them all caught up pretty soon - I will!
When we were both done with our respective jobs, we left to go get some lunch and to get some Christmas shopping done. With all of our appointments during the week, we didn't get that accomplished, and with football tomorrow, today is it. Ron wasn't real happy about it, but he knew it needed done, so off we went.
We went to Longhorn's for our lunch, where we both had salads for lunch. He had the salmon salad, and I had the almost-perfect chicken strawberry salad. We also had the corn fritters, and the waiter brought us bread, too. Ron asked for a bowl of peanuts, too, to munch on while the food was cooking. He was hungry! After we ate, we went over to Meijer to do some shopping, and we got quite a bit done in there, including all the chocolates for our stockings, which is my department. I get the chocolates, Josh & Chelle get the non-chocolate candy.
On the way back, we stopped at Kroger and got Ron's tonic water. Then it was on to WalMart, where we finally found the replacement bulbs for the lights around the house. Who knew it was gonna be so hard to find them this year? I also picked up a few groceries, and a new Bengals ornament for my Sports tree, which I will get put up probably on Monday.
When we got home, we got all the groceries carried in and put away. I sorted out the chocolates, dividing out enough for us (our stocking) - two or three of each color wrapper of each kind of candy - and put the rest to the side to pass on to someone who needs it, as I usually do. Then we watched Quantum Leap until time for bed. While watching, we each had something for supper. He decided he wanted more Waldorf Salad, so we made him a bowl of it real quick, and a bit later, I zapped the end (the rest of...) of the Skyline Dip that I had brought home from GGG and had chips and dip for my supper.
And bedtime is early tonight - us poor old geezers are tired tonight!
Tomorrow is our day of rest - church, lunch, football - and we are looking forward to the normality of it! Then he's back to work and I'm back to my normal blahness of day-to-day, which is fine, because that is my life nowadays. I'll take it over the other option - and I've seen other options!
