A big run-around day

Saturday, February 15, 2014

I got up this morning before 10, because I had to start making phone calls, to try to get this crap with Ron's driver's license fixed.  Yeah.  Right.  On a Saturday morning.  Bzzzz.  Bzzzzz. Bzzzzz.  Busy signal. Busy signal. Busy signal.  That's all I got.  We finally thought 'well, it's the DMV - if we go over there, they will HAVE to talk to us' so we went over, leaving home around quarter til eleven.  Oh. My. God.  I could not believe how packed that place was!  I would have believed it the first or the last weekend of the month, but not in the middle of the month.  Jiminy Christmas.  What a freaking mess.
We sat there and waited our turn - it really wasn't so bad, they were on 92 and we were 9 (ugh).  It just looked bad because of the title people and the license people - and we finally got up there.  She checked the computer.  Yep, computer still says his license is suspended.  We tell the whole story again, and she makes a phone call, but because we don't know where "she" faxed this info to, or who to, then she can't help us any more than that.  She does give us another phone number to call to find out if Ron can work on Monday or not, but is not sure what time they close today, seeing that this number is to an office in Columbus.

We come back home, or rather, head back home, but decide to stop and eat, because it's well after noon now, and we haven't eaten anything yet today.  We stop at Frisch's, since it's on the way home.  Corgan got the breakfast bar, Ron got that turkey burger and onion rings, and I got a breakfast like Bob Evans' Rise and Shine (2 eggs, 2 sausage links, potatoes, and toast).  We did feel a bit better after eating, but not much, and came on home.  Ron and Corgan went outside and I started making phone calls.

I got nowhere, but since that was what was expected, I only felt mildly frustrated.  When the fellas came in, Ron called his 'boss' and let him know what was going on -- which was nothing, and will continue to be nothing until Tuesday, because of the holiday on Monday -- and to find out what he was supposed to do on Monday and Tuesday.  Harold and he finally came to the mutual decision that Ron would be using vacation days for those two days, and boy, are we praying that the state can get everything fixed on or by Tuesday, so he can go to work on Wednesday!  State offices, of course, will NOT be open on Monday, the holiday.  This is all on them, anyway - we paid the damn ticket!  Wonder if they will reimburse us for Ron's missed work hours?  HA!

We took Corgan home, and stayed for supper down at Josh's house, as planned.  Chelle made lasagna for us all!  It was wonderful!  I made dessert - a cherry pie - and it baked while we were eating.  Unfortunately, it baked about 5 minutes too long and the bottom was very well done.  But it was still good.  The lasagna - the main dish - was much, much better than the dessert!  We adults all sat around the table talking for the rest of the evening, and it was a very relaxing evening, for the most part.
I still don't think it would be a very good idea to take either mine or Ron's blood pressure, though.  This day has been very stressful.

I put my food into MFP, and according to that, I was about 50 calories over for the day.  I was really over more than that, because I had some of my Valentine candy, too.  I didn't put any exercise in, either, and there was some walking today, too, but nothing consistent.  So, it should all balance out.  I am okay with being within 50!  Now, if only I can remember to do my weigh-in!!
