Ron and I got up this morning at 7. Josh was going to stop and take my car and leave his, just in case Ron felt like working on the brakes by himself (and, besides, we didn't want him driving his car with bad brakes!) some time today, and we wanted to have the car warmed up for him. That's what parents do, right? I thought about being mean and turn on the ass warmer, too, but finally decided not too. LOL
After Josh had stopped, Ron stayed up - the TV came on, of course - but I went back to bed and then laid there and read instead of going back to sleep. I was hoping to go back to sleep, but my brain got too far awake. That's what I do - once I'm up, I'm up for the day.
We had made arrangements with Josh to go meet him at his lunch time to get the 'new' brake pads/shoes (whatever/whichever) for his car. The ones he had over the weekend were the wrong ones, so he had to get the correct ones today. We were hoping to have lunch with him also, but he said work was too crazy and he couldn't take that much time. Phooey. So, anyway, we met him at the parts store, got the brakes from him, and then went to lunch ourselves. We finally decided on Bob Evans, mostly because gasoline at WalMart had gone down twenty cents from the time we went past to when Josh drove back the other way, and it was still $3.47 further down 125. We got gasoline in Ron's truck for just $3.29! Yay, us! He is set for the week for gasoline now - IF he gets to go to work this week. sigh
For lunch, though, he had the pot roast sandwich platter, but had a bowl of veggie soup instead of the fries and cole slaw, and I had the chicken n noodle deep dish meal. I hadn't had that in a very long time (giving up the carbs...) and boy, was it good! The only thing I didn't like was that they stuck the biscuit UNDER both the mashed potatoes and the chicken n noodles. UGH!! A soppy biscuit - no, no, no. Yuck. I thought she had forgotten my biscuit and asked for one, but then I 'found' it - ewwwwwww. It was grossssssssss. I do like to use bread to sop up the juice at the end, but totally soaked at the beginning? Nope. Nuh-uh. No way, Jose. I will have to remember that, most definitely.
We came back home and just spent the afternoon the way we spend most evenings. I got on the pute, and he tried to lie down to take a nap, but couldn't, so got back up, came out here and promptly fell asleep in his recliner. He woke up and turned on the TV at 5:30 "to catch the weather" and then slept through it. The man is crazy, I tell you.
Around 7, we started looking for some supper. He finally made himself a peanut butter sandwich, and I had to check what kind of calories I had left - I was sure that my lunch was going to leave me little or no choice for supper, but my lunch ended up only being 700 or 800 calories, so I had plenty of calorie room for some supper. I finally settled on my poor man's shit on a shingle with a 2 servings of pretzels (damn, will I be glad when this bag of pretzels is gone!), as well as the next row of blocks of my V-Day Special Dark bar.
I did very good estimating my calorie count. When I added my supper to MFP, I was just 51 calories short for the day. Just 51! Yay, me. Of course, it didn't help that I didn't get any exercise today, but I can do something about that tomorrow. And I'm sure I'll need to - I'm pretty sure tomorrow will be stressful with phone call that will have little or no results. We shall see. Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!
