For some reason, I woke up when Ron did this morning - as a matter of fact, he woke up with leg cramps before his alarm went off, and his getting up woke me up. I don't know why, and when this happens, it's kinda buggy, because of course I can't go back to sleep right away. This morning, I stayed awake until after 7, then went back to sleep for a few hours. I woke up right before noon, finished my book, and got up.
I played Happy Homemaker for a bit, then worked on balancing our checking account for the month - I try not to wait too long after getting our statement. It doesn't balance, of course, it's off $8.50 and is driving me crazy, so I put it to the side for now and got on the pute. I was planning on getting on the damn exercise bike, but that never happened.
At 5:30, I put on a big pan of cabbage for Ron's supper. I made the dish that I usually put smoked sausage in, but since I didn't know what time to expect him, I didn't put the meat in it. The meat has the most sodium, anyway, so I think just the cabbage, nice and warm, will be enough for him. If not, he can find something else. Or he can wait a bit longer and I'll add the sausage. Whichever he prefers.
When he walks in, he mentions how good the house smells, so he didn't worry about the meat. I was surprised, because he usually likes to chill a bit before eating his supper and all that. Corgan jumped right in, too, and made himself a package of Ramen Noodles for his supper.
When they were all done and out of the way, I went out and made me grilled cheese and tomato soup for my supper. I knew it was kinda high carb and high calorie, but it sure sounded good.
After a couple of hours, we all had some ice cream for a snack. When asked if he wanted ice cream, Corgan had to expound all about ice cream and how he only likes vanilla and strawberry and on and on and on. He must have asked 20 times what kind of ice cream I had. When I asked Ron if he wanted syrup, Corgan had to know what kind of that, too. That child!
As we were eating the ice cream (I had made him a small bowl anyway), he did tell that he had forgotten about butter pecan ice cream, and he did like it, too. Especially with caramel syrup (he couldn't have chocolate (Special Dark!) like me and Grandpa, now, could he? I didn't even know I still had caramel syrup in the fridge!), it tasted really good, and on and on and on.
When I put "all" my food into MFP (no lunch, then supper and ice cream), I was a little over 100 calories over for the day. I can live with that. If I had actually gotten on that damn exercise bike, my exercise would have taken care of those extra calories, but, noooooooo, I had to be lazy.
But, you know what? I quite enjoyed my lovely lazy day.
