I got up today, ready and willing to get things ready for the weekend. I had a few errands to run, but nothing strenuous. Then Ron called me - he had gotten a lawnmower and wanted me to meet him to get the mower off of his truck. No biggie. I was going down the road anyway.
I go on down the road. I stop in to talk to Diane - and stayed there for over an hour and a half! My feet were already tired before I left. Am I crazy, or what? While I was there, I got to talk to my sister-in-law Beth, and then another friend came in, too, so it wasn't just me and Diane the whole time - that's a good thing, I tell you! I finally get on down the road and run my errands, then stop at Bob Evans for some lunch (the half-sandwich combo with potato soup) before going into WalMart for - are you ready for this - bread and milk! How funny is that? Yep, that was all I needed today. After all that shopping yesterday, I needed bread (the WalMart in West Union didn't carry the kind of bread that Ron and I like) and then Ron opened the last gallon of milk last night, so I figured I might as well get another gallon, because once they're open, they only last about three days.
After WalMart, I came on home and got the car unloaded - yeah, the milk was real heavy - and checked the mail and all that. Oh, the drive home down 133 was so beautiful! The sun shining on the trees full of ice was just spectacular - like driving through a glass fairyland or something. Just so gorgeous, but it's so hard to describe. The ice won't melt quite yet, either, even though the sun is shining on it. It's still only 20 or so degrees outside!
I got on the pute, and that is where I spent the afternoon. I got my games all caught up and did what I normally do, then I got started on doing our taxes for last year. Real fun, you know, seeing that I was unemployed and all. Ugh. I didn't get the last W2 until Wednesday, and yesterday was out, so today was the big day. It turned out just about the way I thought it would. No windfall to get us out of this hole we are in. Nope. We couldn't get that lucky. We will just about break even. sigh
We aren't getting Corgan tonight, but will get him tomorrow, and have him tomorrow night into Sunday. A little bit different for this weekend, but that's okay - keeps us on our toes. And if we get this snow tomorrow, he'll have a blast playing outside! Ron and I enjoy watching our TV shows tonight (instead of the 'Most Stupid' things Corgan chooses) and then, for our supper, we made fried potatoes with smoked sausage and corn in it (a one-pan meal, all made in a cast-iron skillet). It was very good!
While watching TV, I had myself a snack. I had some walnuts! I had bought them yesterday while shopping, and boy, were they tasty. I will be glad to start having them with my lunches again. I was getting very tired of pretzels, although I still have just under half a bag. Eating proper servings is a pain, let me tell you. They last way too long!
As I put my food into MFP, I had the sinking feeling that I was about to get hollered at, and I was right - MFP sure is getting picky. I used to have to be over 500 calories short for the day before it hollered at me, but not any more. I was about 350 calories short for the day, and it still hollered at me - and I didn't even put any exercise in! I guess that's a good thing, in a way, but still...
