First off, let me apologize. I forgot to write my blog on Saturday night. We had the Quarter Auction that night, and by the time we got home, my ankles, feet, hips, and back hurt so bad that I went pretty much straight to bed.
Saturday 2/1/14
I got up earlier than usual on a Saturday, because I had running to do for the Quarter Auction. I could smell cooking. I just assumed that the guys were making themselves eggs for their breakfasts. When I got up, I found out that my assumption was most certainly true, but that Ron also got started on making the ribs for tomorrow night! He likes to cook them halfway, so it doesn't take so long on Super Bowl Sunday.
Around noon, we take off down the road, as planned. I soon get a text from Josh, wanting to know if we are out and about. I tell him yes. He then wants to know if we want to meet them for lunch at Hibachi. I laughed and laughed. Ron and I KNEW, just knew, that if we ever got him (okay, them) in there, they would like it! Looks like we were right (damn - parents being right.) once again. We say okay and just like that - change of plans.
We end up having a very nice - long - lunch down at the Hibachi Buffet, instead of Bob Evans as planned. I stopped at BE on the way home to pick up the donation for the QA as I was supposed to.
We got back home, but not for long, because I had to be up at the church (in the Center, actually) for the QA early, and we are only taking one car. So, off we go again.
We had a blast at the QA. Corgan and Ron each won once; Corgan a big waffle iron and Ron a big sun catcher. I stood and walked and stood and walked and did what needed to be done, whenever and wherever. Oh, and I sold split-the-pot raffle tickets (which did wonderfully well. The split was $127.50 each) too. After helping with the clean-up and counting up the money, I was so ready to come home! I hadn't eaten any supper, and it was time. I was hungry, tired, and sore, but it was a great evening!!
When I got home, I ate 6 slices of toast and had some milk. Yep, some supper. Then, off to bed. I didn't even read.
Sunday 2/2/14
I got up at my normal time on Sunday. I didn't want to, but I did! My feet and ankles still hurt soooo bad, but I grit my teeth and went on. I went to church, and to the store afterward. I got the few items I wasn't able to get in all my running before then. I also got us stuff to make for breakfast when I got home!
I got home, Ron made breakfast, I checked my pute, and we ate breakfast and then finished getting the house ready for the evening onslaught.
Evening. Super Bowl time. People start showing up. Food is ready, the table is just waiting for their donations. Finally, the last one arrives. I get the rest of the food on the table, Ron gets the ribs & wings out of the oven. And everyone digs in.
And the game goes on. And ugh. What a game. Not the championship game I envisioned. But, it's over now. All my friends will be glad we can now 'have a life' on Sundays again.
It started snowing about the time people started arriving, and they had quite a drive home. Luckily, it was just snow and they all made it, though some had a better drive than others. I just thank God all made it okay.
Monday 2/3/14
Today, I woke up around quarter til 10, and just lazed in bed reading. I hadn't been able to do that for a couple of days, and I quite enjoyed it. At least, until my back started hurting. Then I had to get up.
I played Happy Homemaker and got the dishes all done. All the football dishes, as well as the pans the ribs and wings were in and things like that - I got them all done! I was kinda proud of myself. I got me some lunch (my chicken salad and the rest of the Hibachi peanuts) and then, I finally got on the pute and got my games all caught up. I stayed on the pute the rest of the afternoon.
Some time during the afternoon, I got a text from my sister. My niece has been hit by a car!! It took a couple of texts to get the story, but evidently she was uptown (in Winchester, from their house) and somehow or another, she got hit by this car. She was taken to the hospital by squad, got x-rayed and all that, and - very luckily - nothing was/is broken. She was released and went home with her mom.
My family is sure using up their share of mini-miracles this weekend!
After Ron got home, we had supper. I have no idea what Ron had, but I had the rest of the snausages (the BBQ soaked cocktail weenies) and the plain wings. I also had a banana and some salted nuts. And all of the Super Bowl food is gone. Gone, I tell you!! We did very good cutting way back this year.
When I put all my food into MFP today, I was about 350 over for the day, but I can live with that, I do believe. I really don't see how, with most of it being protein, but that's what it said. So - I will start my exercising back up tomorrow. I will! I promise. Nothing else on the calendar for quite a while, so I have nothing else to look forward to, so I might as well do something for myself.
