I woke up this morning just before 10, and laid in bed reading until almost 1. Once again, with no plans, there was no reason to get up, so why bother? Although, once up, I did decide to run uptown for my lunch and to do a couple of errands - that were not important - just because a new storm (which could be rain, sleet, snow or ice, depending on where you live according to the weathermen) is moving in tonight. And if I feel trapped in the house, it feels different than not choosing to go anywhere. It's weird, I know, but there it is. I also got a phone call that my TOPS meeting for tonight was going to be canceled - not that it was going to be bad to go, but it was supposed to be bad come time to go home! So, 3 weeks in a row with no meeting. This has been very strange.
So, I went uptown and did those piddly errands and had lunch at Gold Star. That 5-way and cheese coney sure tasted good, and I enjoyed them. I also had every intention of coming home and either getting on the damn exercise bike or doing some Wii training, but of course, it didn't happen. After I got back home, I realized that I should have gone to the store and picked up a couple things. Not that we really needed these things, but they would come in handy if we end up frozen in. I texted Ron and asked him if he could stop at the store, but he said no, so I ended up running back uptown to get the stuff. Another half hour gone...
By the time I got back home, I was beat. I got on the pute and that was that. I waited for Ron to get home, and to hear that others were home. It was a worrisome afternoon. Ron did finally get here, and not long afterward, the snow started. And it came down fast and furious!!
We made some pork chops for our supper. I just cooked them in a cast-iron skillet, not bothering with any coating, or to make anything else. We don't make them like that very often, and forget how good they are when we DO make them!
We just watched TV all evening, checking out the windows every now and then - it was weird to hear the icy rain hitting the kitchen windows, let me tell you! - to check on what it looked like outside. I don't like it when the 'storm's are backwards like that! We can also tell by how fast the cars go by out there on the highway, too, how bad it is, and as the evening went on, they got slower and slower. I'd say they are going about 25 mph or so when they go by now.
Around 9-9:30, I made myself a bag of microwave popcorn and had a glass of milk with it.
When I put my food into MFP, I was just shy of being 100 calories over for the day. I am glad I lowered my calorie count, but I think I'm gonna have to buckle down and get moving on my exercise, so that I can be within the 1500 calorie count every, EVERY day and quit being so paranoid about it. Oh - and I thought of a motivation for myself. It's a little - ahem - intimate, so let's just say that I want to give Ron a very nice 'gift' on his birthday on March 21st, okay? But, at least I've thought of something now! I've got something to work toward!
Be safe, everyone, and please make a wise choice tomorrow when it comes to driving on the icy roads.
