I woke up this morning from one of the strangest dreams I've had in a long, long time. This dream has stayed in my head all day, and I hate remembering my dreams, because then they come true in some fashion, and this was not pleasant in any way, shape, or form, and I don't want ANY of it coming true. If it comes back tonight, I am not gonna be a happy person. This is haunting me, I tell you.
I woke just before 9:30 this morning, and read until around 11. Then I got up and got started playing Happy Homemaker, which is always so much fun on a Monday morning. After resetting the clocks on the stove and the microwave - I guess the electricity went out during the storm, which I had slept through - I put a load of laundry in and stacked the dishes, but didn't do them, thinking that I would do them this afternoon, stretching the housework out all day long. I did other tasks here in the house, then got the load of clothes into the dryer, and decided it was computer time for a while. I deserve a little break!
Around one, I remembered that I needed to run down and pick up Ron's prescription, so I had to get dressed and go down the road. Damn my old-age memory! Why couldn't I have done this first thing this morning and got it over with? Ugh! As I'm driving out of town, I pass Gold Star and oh, it smelled so good! I don't know why, you usually can't smell it, I don't think, but I sure did today, so I decided that Gold Star was my lunch spot today. I called my friend Bert to see if she wanted to meet me there when I got back to town, but she wasn't feeling very well, not after mowing both days over the weekend. So we just talked for a bit as I was driving down the road, and then she asked me if we were going over to Teresa's this week. I had forgotten! Crap! I had to call Teresa to ask her if we had set up a certain day this week, cause I was clueless. Teresa and I decided on tomorrow, if Bert felt up to it. Teresa has stuff going on after that, so it was tomorrow or wait til next week (once again) and we didn't want to do that.
As I drove back to Bethel, I called Bert back and told her about tomorrow, and she will call me in the morning and let me know how she feels. So hoping for a Bert and Teresa Day tomorrow!
I stop at Gold Star and have my regular 5-way and cheese coney combo, and knew that I would have to have a soup, or something small, for my supper. No snacks for me tonight! But, boy, was it good, and I enjoyed every single bite!
I got back home, put in another load of laundry, then gathered up what I would need and headed outside before it rained again. I cut all the dead and/or brown stuff off the end of the yucca over by the mailbox. Ron had done the one in yard yesterday while he was outside working (I have no idea why he only did one of them!), and it looked very lopsided with one all green and pretty, and the other brown and ugly. I didn't see it until I pulled in the driveway, so I had to go out and fix it. That alone took me about half an hour, if not longer! But the yucca looks much better, it's green and pretty, just like its twin on the other side of the driveway. Hooray!
I come back in, put the clothes in the dryer, and get back on the pute. Yeah, I know - I'm lame. I'll do those dishes later. Ha.
Ron got home a little after 5, and he was really tired. I think it was more a mental tired than physical, because of Uncle Buddy, but that could just be me. He plopped into his recliner and that was that. I zapped the leftovers of the Shepherd Pie for our supper, taking just a little (about 3/4 cup) for me, and giving the rest to Ron. I had to wake him up to eat, and he went out and made himself butter bread to go with it, but then didn't finish it all! Silly man.
We (well, me) watched TV and that was our fun evening. As you may have guessed, I never did do those dishes. I never was very good at playing Happy Homemaker. I'll do them in the morning before leaving, I promise. Then I'll put them away when I get back! The laundry, as usual, will sit in the baskets.
As I put my food into MFP, I ended up only 50 calories short for the day. I guess cleaning is good for something! I'm glad I was under, I was worried about it, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna blow it tomorrow. I'll probably be over when I weigh in at TOPS tomorrow night, too. Two weeks in a row, but - Easter only comes once a year - and you gotta grab life and enjoy while it's here!
Keep your fingers crossed for me, that tomorrow will be a Bert and Teresa Day! I'm looking so forward to it! It's not very good for my diet, but it sure is good for my state of mind!! I love my friends to pieces, and love spending time with them!!
The rain in the air made the scents hang around. I smelled flowers whenever I went out.
