7/31

This was quite a normal, boring day.  Nothing happened, nothing didn't happen, so nothing got written about it (last night).
I got up, played on the pute, made some lunch (a sausage, egg & cheese muffin), went back to bed, got back up, did my exercises, played on the pute, went back to bed, got back up when Ron got home, had supper with him - we went to FeedMill in Felicity.  He had a mushroom steak hoagy with fries, and I had a plate of chicken fingers & fish strips with steak fries.  We came home, he fell asleep in front of the TV, I played on the pute, then we both went to bed.
End of day, end of story.

Oh -- Josh and family did get home from their vacation!  All safe and sound.  Brat got home at 11(pm) and didn't text me until 11:30!!  Ai Yi Yi!  I'll murderpate him one of these days!  Doesn't he know better than to worry his mother like that?

8/1

Today started out as any other day.  Once I woke up, I was laying in bed reading when Josh texted me, asking me about whether or not I wanted to go shopping with them and all that.  We had spoken vaguely about it last night, but left it to be settled today, after they had gotten home and gotten to sleep - all night! - in their own beds.  Anyway, after a few texts and then finally a phone call, we decided that he would come get me and I would just be at his house.  I was taking clothes for Ron to change into and he could just come straight there after work, and I was going to let Ron know and make sure this was okay with him - I have to let the man think he has some sort of something to say about the decision, right? - so I texted him to call me when he could, and he called me just a few minutes later.  When I was telling him everything, he said, "Well, okay, but I'm on my way home NOW."  WHAT??  It's barely after noon!  Yep, he goes on to say, his truck broke down on him (his garbage truck), and there are no spares, so he has to come home.  I ask him what happened, and he said that he drove over the RR track in Mt. Orab, and the steering wheel/steering column broke and fell into his lap!  Luckily, it was the 'tilt' part of the wheel, not the actual steering part, and he was able to drive it to the landfill in Georgetown from there, but damn...
But he was coming home, so he would be able to go with the whole family, not that he likes shopping or anything, but he'd be with us!
I got up, did my exercises for the day - even though I was going to get in a WalMart Walk, too - and took my shower before he got home, so I was ready before he got here.  I played on the pute after that, while he took his shower and all, then we hit the road.

When we got to Josh's, we all left and went over to Maysville, where we went to Golden Dragon, a Chinese buffet, for a late lunch, before we did anything else.  They are not a real big place, but they have good food.  After that, we went to WalMart, and Chelle and I both did our grocery shopping.  Since we had such a late lunch, we got lunchmeat (salami roll-ups!) and stuff for a casual supper, while we were looking at their souvenirs and watching their vacation video.
Since Ron has to work tomorrow (we got that phone call on our down to their house), we also decided to go ahead and have Josh & Chelle's birthday celebration tonight, so I bought them an ice cream (Reese's peanut butter, even) cake and, as decoration, I got each of them a little Happy Birthday balloon.  We hadn't bought them anything for their birthday(s) because of their vacation, so this was better than nothing.  Do you know how much those damn ice cream cakes are????!!!!  Geez!!

Back at their house, they put their groceries away, and I put my refrigerator stuff in the fridge (and the cake in the freezer) and then it was on to souvenir-looking, 'supper,' video-watching and birthday celebrating!  We had a fantastic evening!  I did feel a little bad because we didn't really have anything for them, but they both said that the vacation was enough for them - they haven't been able to have much of a vacation, just their family, for quite a while, and they loved that!  So that made me feel better.
We left to come home right before 9, because a certain mister was already falling asleep - in front of the TV - and he had to really get to bed, anyway.  We got home, he turned on our TV and promptly fell back asleep, and I got on the pute.

I get to bake a cake tomorrow for the Pig Roast up at church tomorrow night.  If you don't have plans, it's a relatively cheap meal ($8.00 for adults, I believe, and I'm not sure about the kids - maybe $5.00?)  and it's good food, good fun, and most probably, good company!  At St. Mary's in Bethel.  Look for the pink pig signs!
