8/13

Today was pretty much just a normal day.  Ron drove/rode the bike, so I had the truck if I had wanted to go anywhere, but I didn't, so it sat there in the driveway all day.
I had a can of my chicken salad with walnuts for my lunch, and I did my exercises later in the afternoon.  Every time I got up, I worked on those green beans that were in the sink, too, and by the end of the day, I had enough snapped to make a pot of green beans for us tomorrow for supper, and the rest had to go.  Yes, they were that bad.  But the ones I got were gotten free, so that makes it worth it!
I made us pork chops and mini corn-on-the-cobs for our supper, and that was that for the day.
Yep, it was a regular old boring day, complete with getting hollered at by MFP, even with a snack of popcorn and milk.  Man, life is a rock.

Today started out with me going to church to be lector at a funeral for a fellow parishioner.  Being a member of the Bereavement Committee, they tend to ask me to be the lector when the Bereavement Committee is asked to carry out these functions because there aren't family members to do so.  It's sad, but there it is.
After that, I came right home, because I had a phone call scheduled from the disability lawyer.  Well, my phone never rang, so at twenty after noon, I called them to make sure it was today, and there were two messages on the phone!  (The message light was NOT blinking!)  Both messages were from them, so now I was really ticked - at my phone - and called them back, but all they could, or would, do is to re-schedule my phone call.  NOW it's scheduled for the 29th.  I sure hope they don't fiddlefart around and lose the chance to appeal my decision!!  I will really be super pissed if that happens!  I have no idea why my phone played around today, but I was home and my. phone. did. not. ring.  I don't know why, and that irks me.  On this most important day (of phone calls), why today?  Ooooooohh!!
After the frustratedness of the phone call, I got the green beans started in the crockpot, then zapped two hot dogs for my lunch, and ate a nut bar with them for my lunch, then let myself doze off for a little nap.

When I woke up, I got up and did my exercises, then played on the pute, and went into my normal day.
Then, when Ron got home, I went uptown to make our deposit, go to the store, and pick us up some supper, since he didn't really didn't want to have the green beans.  They will be just as good tomorrow night, if not better, after cooking for another day!
I chose to go to Arby's for our supper, and, you know what?  They didn't have their Pecan Chicken Salad!!!  What????  It's not Labor Day!!  I couldn't believe it!  I had to figure out what did I want now? and finally decided on one of the mega meat sandwiches - ham, turkey, and bacon - for my sandwich.  It came with Swiss cheese, but I don't like Swiss, so I had them take it off.  It was really good.  Man, it was like one of our homemade sandwiches!  That's saying something, you know...
I got Ron the Market Fresh turkey, bacon and ranch sandwich and I got us both baked potatoes with butter and cheese, as usual.  What a good supper we had!

I then played more on the pute, but I am super tired (yes, even after a nap) and am gonna hit the hay a little early tonight.
Ron will probably ride the bike tomorrow, and I'll have the truck, so I will get to go shopping!  All by myself!  Wow - back to the real world, kinda!
