Driving my own car down the road......priceless!

Saturday, August 16, 2014

I woke up this morning before 10!  I couldn't believe it - my "sleeping in" day, and I wake up early.  Bah!
But, okay, it is what it is and, hopefully, that means I'll sleep tonight, too.
I ask Corgan to set up the Wii for me before the fellers go outside, and I get up to do my weigh-in and wish, when I had done it, that I hadn't.  Yep, I gained.  Just over a pound, but since I've been doing my exercises every day, maybe (just maybe) I am building some muscle.  I hope so, because I do want to lose some of this flabbiness!  I have had very good numbers on MFP all week, so I am hoping.  I guess I'll find out for sure next week.

The day goes on, and I spend it as usual.  Up for a while, then lie back down for a bit, then get back up.  At one, I make us each a grilled cheese sandwich for our lunch.  I put more cheese on mine and Corgan's than I do Ron's, just because we like cheese more than he does.  I call them in to eat, because they wouldn't think to do so by themselves.  (Case in point:  I told them at noon that they needed to be thinking about some kind of lunch, and by one, they still hadn't eaten, thus I had to come up with something for us all.)

At three, I had them start cleaning up and closing down the garage, because Josh and Chelle should be getting here soon, and we should be somewhere close to being ready (to go) when they get here.  Ron has their car - their old car, now - all ready to go, and we are all going to Hibachi Grill for a celebratory meal when they are done.
They get here, then they leave in both of their cars.  Corgan, of course, goes with them.  He HAS to ride in the new car, don't you know?  He's so funny!  Like it's not going to be their car now, or something.  Ha.  Ron comes in to take his shower and change his clothes (he was still puttering under the hood of the old car), and we leave, so we can run some errands before meeting them.  I drive my own car down the road!  Oh, how nice it was, and how weird at the same time!  I certainly have to get used to it again.  The sounds of it, the feel of it, and all that - but I did, and I will.  It was great!
We had a wonderful meal, and a wonderful time together.  We had some time to kill, too, because they were going to go to the movie at 7:20, and didn't want to get there too early.  It's much more comfortable to sit in a restaurant (a buffet, even!) than to stand around a theatre lobby, right?  They talked Ron into going to the movie with them - it was Expendables 3, and it didn't take much talking, trust me.  The three fellers had gone to see the first one when it came out, and he just saw #2 on TV the other night - yes, really saw(!) - so he was game to see #3.

I came on home by myself.  Trust me, that kind of movie is not my kind of movie!  I played on the pute and rested my back, and here I am on the pute again.
When I put my food in MFP, I hit my calorie count right on the head!  BAM!  Exactamundo!  I never did that before, and that was pretty cool.  I didn't do, and certainly couldn't claim, any exercise today, which would have helped, but there it is.

It's been a restful, yet busy day, and I've pretty much enjoyed it all.  I certainly can't say that about every Saturday!
