I got up this morning, filled with anticipation, because Ron and I talked last night about the possibility of us being able to have lunch together today. That doesn't get to happen very often, and we really enjoy it when it does happen. But, like an idiot, I forgot that I needed to go uptown and make the deposit, so when he called, I was in the middle of doing the dishes. He was on his way to Georgetown from Mt. Orab, and would call me and let me know where to meet him at in Georgetown. I quickly finished up the dishes, all but the pans, jumped in the shower, washing/rinsing me but not my hair for time, got dressed and left the house in less than fifteen minutes - I was rather proud of myself.
Here I am, driving down the road, when Ron calls and demands, "Where were you?! I tried to call and you didn't answer!" After a few minutes of conversation, we figure out that he called while I was in the shower, and that, yes, it was quite a few minutes ago, not just a couple, and we go on to figure out where to meet. He is on his way down to the Zimmer plant, so I have to turn around to go over to Felicity so we can have our lunch at the FeedMill, instead of in Georgetown somewhere. It's SO wonderful that this is actually working out for us today! I will order his food so that it should get to the table just about the same time he does.
Things do go according to plan, and the timing is absolutely perfect. The waitress walked around the corner with our plates of food right behind him! Who says God doesn't watch out for fools and babies? Ha! We are proof today - the fools part, anyway. (I don't think anyone can call us baby, except each other.) After lunch - he had a steak hoagy with mushroom sauce and regular french fries, and I had a BLT with steak fries - we each go on our way. He goes on down to do his work, and I go back home to gather stuff together (the deposit), then up to Bethel, where I go to the bank, then to good ol' IGA, where I pick up bread, milk, some of the 5-for-$20. meat, and a few other things, then back home to unload these groceries. I did lay down and rest my back a bit, and I talked to Josh about picking up Corgan, because I wanted to go to Save-A-Lot and get more 5-for-$20. meat up there, too, and we arranged that, and I played on the pute until time to leave to go to Georgetown (for real this time).
I get to Save-A-Lot and meet them, and Corgan and I do the shopping, then head for home. On the way, we decide to stop in Hamersville at the ice cream place and get ourselves a treat. Once there, he decides to get a pineapple malt (you should have seen his face! "What's a malt, Granny?") instead of a shake or an ice cream, and I got a butterscotch dipped cone. I'm so glad to be able to get him something 'new and different.' We actually had pretty good conversation on the way home, too!
We got home, got the groceries carried in and put away, shucked the corn for our supper tonight and got it put on (last night's wasn't quite done enough, so I knew tonight's would need to cook longer), and he played on the Wii while I played on the pute. Ron got home about half an hour later, and told us it was pouring down the rain in Hamersville! What? That was pretty funny - we were just there! But, yes, his truck was all wet. Wow.
I got our supper started, and went to lie down while it was cooking, getting up every few minutes to check on it. When it was done, I made my plate and went back in the bedroom to eat and stayed in there for quite a while. Then I came back out here to the living room to get back on the pute to finish out my night. Luckily, Corgan was watching Brain Games on the TV and not his normal Most Stupid shows. I would have been crazy by now, if not. (I know, I know!! Don't say it!!)
I put my food and exercise - I claimed a WalMart Walk (135 calories burnt) today, because I went to 2 different stores - in MFP, and I ended up just 33 calories short for the day! 33! When I put in the WalMart Walk, I tell it how many calories I burnt, so I guess that 135 was a pretty good guess. If I was at my normal walking speed, I would have said 200 (100 per store)!! Good thing I did the exercise before the food, huh?
No plans at all for tomorrow. The fellers will probably work on lawnmowers all day, and I'll have to remind them to eat lunch, and I'll make supper for everyone. We might have a fire in the fire pit if it doesn't rain!
