Nothing like a festival......and then recovering from the festival

Sunday, August 17, 2014

Today started, as all Sundays do, with the alarm going off at 9.  After showers and dressing, we make it to church , and I am asked to do the lectoring today, which is fine with me.  I can't do much else, but, by golly, I can read with the best of 'em!
After church, there is a bake sale, and Ron and I do our little bit by buying a couple of donuts and a piece of chocolate chip coffee cake, then we head on down the road to Amelia to St. Bernadette's festival.  We like to go down there to get their chicken dinner, look at their Bid-n-Buy things (that's where we got Corgan's bike last year!), as well as a few things you can only find at festivals -- like Ron's Italian Sausage and things like that.  It's a nice way to spend the afternoon, and we always see people we don't see very often, and it's good to see them, too!
We had stopped to pick up our friend Bert (she had never gone before!), and we finally headed for home around 3:30, only because my back just couldn't stand any more.  Hardy har har.  Trust me, I was so ready to come home and lie down for a bit!  We had sat and talked and talked and talked with our friends after eating, then walked through the festival, looking and talking to more people, and I was done.  After the truck ride home, and dropping Bert off, I was sooooo ready to be home.  But, oh, did we have fun!

Once home, I laid down and Ron watched TV.  He thought he might mow, but he didn't make it that far.  He didn't even make it back out of the house!  Around 7:30, we made ourselves some supper - I had a bacon sandwich (yes, a sandwich.  on bread.) and he had Ramen noodles.  We live high on the hog, you know.   I laid back down to eat my supper, and now I have gotten back up again to finish up my night on the pute.

Not surprisingly, when I put my food in MFP, I was over on my calorie count.  But that's okay - I am usually under, so being 150 or so over today isn't going to make that much of a difference.  I did put in that I walked a mile today, too, because I'm sure I did, what with walking around the festival, but it sure was a slow walk.

Nothing planned for tomorrow, except to play Happy Homemaker.  WhooHoo!
