Today was pretty much a normal Saturday around here. When I woke up, Ron and Corgan were already outside (working on lawnmowers, I assume) and I got up and did my weigh-in. Thank God, my number finally went in the correct direction! I lost almost two pounds (1.8) and, let me tell you, I was very happy to see that! I didn't do much after that, playing on the pute for a bit, then going back to lay down.
After a while, Corgan came in to ask me if I wanted to go walk the Walk Path, and I told him YES, I have been wanting to try walking again. So, after they got everything closed up and all that, we went uptown. They fellers rode their bikes around the Path, and I walked. I did good, and was doing good, but then I stopped to get a drink and dropped my walking stick. Well, shit. I've got to bend over and pick it up. That never feels any good, so after that, I decided to take the shortcut instead of walking all the way around. Even though it's called a shortcut, it's really not much of a shortcut, because you have to walk on the road through the ballpark/school to get over to the other side of the Path, so you probably only walk a mile, or just under, instead of a mile and a quarter. But - I did it! My (left) hip hurt me more than my back did, which was kind of a surprise to me. But my hip always did used to hurt me when we walked, so it's not too much of a surprise. I think I could have walked the whole Path if I hadn't had to bend over and pick my stick up, but I did. Blah.
And, oh, it was so hot. We probably shouldn't have gone up at 2 in the afternoon, but we did, and I probably helped myself by sweating, sweating, sweating like crazy. When we all got back to the truck (parked at IGA), we went into IGA and bought stuff specifically for supper tonight. Usually I think it's very cold in that store, but today I welcomed the chilliness of being in there.
When we got home, I made us some lunch, which wasn't hard, because we just zapped ourselves each a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant or muffin, and then I laid back down to rest my back until the rest of the family got here, because I knew that once they got here, I would be up for the rest of the night.
They got here just after six, and I got up and started making supper for us all. I made them all burritos, with all the accouterments - diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, diced onions, salsa, cheese, etc. - which was easy because the burritos were frozen and I just had to put them in the oven. Yes, in the oven on this scorching-ass hot day. That's because I had the A/C on, and to run the microwave, we have to turn the A/C off, and we didn't want to do that! Besides, cooking that many burritos in the microwave would have taken just as long as cooking them in the oven, so it made just as much sense to cook them in the oven and get them all done at the same time.
I made myself some ham (not the thick ham steaks, but thinner ham that has six slices in the package), and made a ham and cheese (Colby Jack) sandwich, then ate the last slice in pieces. Josh and Chelle had brought some orange tomatoes from Jungle Jim's with them, and I quite enjoyed them, too!
Josh, Jean, and I then played Jeopardy on the Wii, and I sucked hind tit, as usual, although Jean did win one game, although Josh totally wiped the floor up with us in the other game. Nothing new there!
When I put my food and exercise in MFP, I didn't get hollered at! I did put in for a snack of popcorn and milk, which I will make as soon as I am done here, even though it's so late. I was hoping to get away from that, but I guess that's not possible, not quite yet. Phooey! I guess I get hollered at if I am more than 300 calories short, because I was only 291 short tonight and no big red letters! WhooHoo. I am pathetic, right?
Picking fresh green beans tomorrow - hope it's not scorching hot again!
