Tis a Pleasant (Valley?) Sunday!

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Today started with Ron waking me up at 5:30, because he had a sore throat and took a pill, but the pill stuck in his throat and now he can barely breathe!  Shit!  That's not good!  I urge him to keep drinking water, and finally the pill goes down, and we go back to sleep, though I keep waking up to check on him.  The alarm going off, as it usually does, at 9, and I hit snooze way too many times, then had to rush through my shower and dressing before leaving for church.  Ron stayed here with Corgan, and I did talk him into taking an allergy pill (my Mucinex DM) before I left, so hopefully the sore throat will ease somewhat and he will feel like going out as we do on Sundays.  He will let me know when I get out of church.
I give my little speech at church, and a few people speak to me on the way out, so, hopefully, it will do a little bit of good.  That's what it's all about, anyway, and we'll just have to see.
After church, I let Ron know I was on my way home, and he didn't respond to me, so that meant everything was okay and I'd just pick them up and we'd go on to eat.  Yay!  I'm glad he's feeling better.  We went up to Georgetown to have breakfast at Country Inn.  At least, Ron and I had the big breakfast.  Corgan chose to have lunch, and had the chicken liver dinner.  He shared his onions and the sides with his grandpa, and Grandpa actually ate them, so Grandpa's throat must have been feeling okay.

After we ate, we came home, where I got on the pute while the fellers watched TV.  After a while, though, I had the guys help me peel apples and I made a batch of individual apple pies for a get-together we're going to tomorrow.  This is a big job, and I am very grateful for the help!
I also got supper started - I am making Johnny Marzetti, and the hamburger is frozen, so it takes a while for it to cook.  It's best to cook it slowly when you start with frozen, I've learned.  I'll cook the pasta and finish it up when Josh and Jean get here.  Chelle has to work tonight, unfortunately, so it will just be those two, not the whole family.
I get the pies in the oven just as they get here - what great timing!  I get the rest of supper going, and the pies get done in time for me to put the Johnny Marzetti in the oven to finish up.  When it was done, we ate supper, then just sat around talking and enjoying the day.  We moved outside and sat out there for a while, too.  It was still a little humid, but it wasn't too bad.

They left for home around 7:30, and we came back in.  Ron is sleeping in front of the TV, and here I am on the pute.  I think we will both go to bed early tonight!
Not a surprise, my calorie count was tremendously over when I put my food into MFP, and there was no exercise today to balance it out (not that those 90 calories would balance much today!) but I knew going in that today would be a bust, and you know what?  I just don't care today!  I am starting a new plan of action tomorrow, one that MFP is not gonna like at all - I may give MFP a miss for a while, I'll have to see how this new plan works out - but I've got to do something.  I'd really, really, really like to be under 200 pounds, if not all the way to "I have lost 75 pounds" by my birthday (September 29th) so I've got to change things up!

I sure hope Ron feels better - he is not a very good sicky boy!  So far, it's just a sore throat, but you all know that that can turn into so many more things, and it comes with so many other things, too.  He doesn't get sick very much at all - not even colds - and doesn't handle being "not well" at all.  He'll do his usual Tylenol-and-Advil switch-off every 4 hours, with a Mucinex DM every now and then, and we'll see.  Please pray for him, send him good wishes and thoughts, whatever you do - he (and I!) will appreciate it!
