Today, my alarm went off at 10am. Both of them, actually. Ugh - it was way too early. I was only up until 2 reading, so it seemed like no time at all before that damn beeeeep-beeeeep-beeeeep started. Which, I suppose, is good. That's what 8 hours of sleep is supposed to feel like, right? Only problem is - I like 10 or so hours of sleep! Yep, that's me, lazy to the bone.
But I dragged my lazy old ass up, got a shower, rapidly checked the pute (banking), and took off down the road - I had written myself a big ol' list last night, and I had a ton of things to do. I was on the road by 11.
I stopped at Walgreen's for our prescriptions. I just went through the drive-thru this time, not needing anything inside the store, which was a relief. There's usually at least one thing from inside, and that takes a lot longer. Then on down the road. Next stop: Valvoline, for an oil change. Of course, they are full, and I have to wait. Ugh. So, I wait. And wait. And wait some more. C'mon - I thought these were supposed to take 15 minutes! Finally, at 5 after 12, I get to pull in. Jiminy. It is after 12:30 when I finally get to go on down to my next stop. Verizon, down in Beechmont. They have redone their place! WOW!! This is very nice! OK, this one done - now over to Innervisions. I had broken my Virgin Mary nightlight while cleaning the bathroom yesterday, and I am hoping to get a new one to replace it (and a back-up!). Nope, no such luck, they don't have them anymore. Sigh. I get a 'Good Shepherd' one and am wondering how long it will take someone to notice (of course, if they read this, they will know and that's not quite the same, now is it? lol). I'm sure Mr. Observant won't notice at all...
Leaving Innervisions, I can finally head back toward home! Whew! I had set up a time to meet Josh for lunch, too, and had already changed it three times because of all of my conflicts. I tried to stop and get gasoline (saving 3 cents per gallon using cash) but, since my gas tank is on the right-hand side, dumbasses who think they were too good to wait in line kept jumping line and turning to go toward me, so I could not wait any longer and had to leave. Ah, well, what's 15 cents, right? Or maybe a quarter? Oh, yeah - right now, it's the equivalent of 50 DOLLARS!!
Even though I was a few - just a few - minutes late, as I get to the Wendy's in front of the old Kroger building - where Josh and I were meeting - and, as I passed on 125 to get to the driveway, I saw Josh just pulling in! So, yay for that timing! We had a nice 45 or so minutes together, eating lunch and talking. I had a double cheeseburger and a chili.
After we went our separate ways, I went on to WalMart to get my grocery shopping done. I didn't need much, but figured it was best to do it today while out. Nothing like a WalMart Walk for my exercise for the day! When I left WalMart, I went up to the gas station and got my gasoline, too ($3.05), so that got done, also. Not a bad price, either.
My next stop was at Kate's CarryOut to find out what time I had to be up at church tonight to help get the Quarter Auction set up. The way Diane and I both talk, though, it was another 45 minutes to an hour before I got out of there. (Not a surprise to anyone who knows either of us!) Then I stopped at my friend Bert's house to pick up her donation for the QA. She fell the other day on the wet floor after mopping, and was not feeling so great. She is okay, just sore. Can't pull a deep breath, etc. You know how that is.
Leaving her house, it's on to Bethel. Four stops left on my list! I can do this! I stop at Gold Star to pick up their donation to the QA. The person I'm supposed to be getting this from isn't there. He's gone to the bank. Story of my life. OK, I'm going up to the church tonight, so I can come back. I go on, and make my stop at the bank. Boy, did that become much more involved than I thought it was going to be. I am so glad I am on good, friendly terms with them all! It took me over half an hour in there! I was so glad to be done in there, and I decided to go straight on home. I was wiped out now. Heck with the last two stops. I can go to IGA tomorrow, and Ron can deal with washing my car. Ugh - I wanna go home! It's almost 5:00 in the afternoon, I've been doing all this running for 6 hours, and I wanna go home and stop. So I did.
Of course, when I got home, I had to carry everything in and put stuff away and all of that, but - by God, I was home!
Ron and Corgan got home not long after I did, and we enjoyed about an hour before we had to go up to the church, and Josh even stopped to see if he could figure out what was going on with my computer, but, of course, it didn't do what I've been telling him it's doing while we was here. Just like the car doesn't do what I say it does when Ron drives it. Men, machines. Ugh. Throw 'em both out the windows (sometimes).
While I was working up at church, Ron and Corgan sat in the back room and played DS and word searches, then they took my car over to the car wash and got that done. I knew I could count on him to get bored! We got done around 8:30, and we came home, got our supper - the guys had Ramen Noodles, and I had Potato Soup - and watched TV. Corgan, of course, chose Most Stupid crap. Good thing I have my pute to occupy my mind, that stuff drives me nuts.
Around 10, I decided to be a bad girl, and made myself a bag of microwave popcorn. I offered to share with the guys, but they both refused any of it. Okey, dokey - more for me! I quite enjoyed my popcorn and milk. I know I should NOT have had a snack that late at night, but this day has been so weird, why not? I will probably pay for it when I get up and do my weigh-in for the week, but tonight, I am okay with it.
Busy, busy, busy. I have been Professor Hinkle today, but I got things accomplished today, and I feel very good about it. The accomplishments, that is. Not the late snack. I. Am. Woman.
