Today was a very nice day, for January. Temps in the 40s, bright and sunshiny.
I woke up a little before 10, and finished the book I've been reading. I put it in the give-to-Ruth pile and got up. After playing on the pute for a bit, I decided to go out after lunch and try to drum up more donations for the Quarter Auction coming up. I had my chicken salad, a serving of Pretzel Crisps, and a banana for my lunch and took off down the road. So, after an afternoon of getting in and out of the car, and going in and out of businesses (and stopping to get the car washed, too), I finally got back home just before 5. You don't think getting donations is easy, do you? I had to leave our request letters at more places than I got actual items from, but I did get a few things to turn in, and I was glad for that. I was glad to get home, too. My left hip was starting to ache, I think from getting in and out of the car, but I could be wrong (nah....)
Ron got home about an hour after I did, and we decided on crab cakes for our supper. I wanted macaroni & cheese to go with them, but after we checked the sodium contents of both, we changed our minds. I made some buttered noodles instead. Thus - crab cakes and buttered noodles. Big supper, right? But filling. And that's what we need.
I even refrained from eating a snack while watching TV, even though I wanted to. I was strong!
When I got on MFP, I actually lowered my calorie number down to 1500, since I was always short by around 300. I thought it was about time to do that. So, I put my food in, and I was 250 calories short!! I starting laughing! That just tickled my funnybone. So, I put in to eat a nut bar when I go to bed, so I'll get a snack after all.
Oh, and the White Death? Yep, it's supposedly coming FOR SURE again. No matter what station you listen to or watch, it's coming. No less than 2 inches, up to 5 inches. No matter where you live in this area, you will wake to a covering (except maybe Ron and those like him - he might be at work before it starts - but maybe not) but it all depends on where you live when it will start. There's a Winter Weather Advisory from midnight to 11am tomorrow. So much for our plans (mine & Bert's) to spend the day at Teresa's tomorrow! Mother Nature hates us in January! After the White Death itself stops, the high tomorrow is supposed to be 13 or so. Single digits tomorrow nights, and then the same over the next two days. Ugh. I can handle the snow, but arctic temps? Please.
