Final weigh-in day (for this go-round)

Saturday, January 4, 2014

Today I got up a little after 8, because I had to be on the road by 8:30.  Not that I really wanted to, but I HAD to be.  You see, today was final weigh-in day for this go-round of the Biggest Loser contest I've been in.  I'm not gonna let my twenty bucks go to waste by not doing the final!  I had to be there BY 9:30, and had to go pick someone else - who wanted to join the next go-round - up, and I had to leave enough time in there to do all that.  So, off I went.  Ugh.  It was COLD!  I think 13 or so at the time.  Brrrr.

I stopped and picked Lynn, my niece, up.  Loading her and her three kids into my car was a lot of fun.  I had already asked her about having their car seats, so she was prepared, and that was good.  It didn't take as long as I had expected - it's been a long time since I've dealt with kids that young - and we got back on the road.  We got over to the Union Twp. Civic Center, and then we couldn't find the right room!  It ended up that we had gone into the wrong door, and with a few texts, we got to where we needed to be.  Whew...

Last time, at the final, I lost 16 pounds and 12 inches (remember? lol), and this time I halved that - I lost 9.4 pounds, and 6.5 inches.  But, hey, I'm happy with losing anything.  So, I'll have to let you know if that was enough to let me be one of the top 'losers' or not.  I'm thinking not, but I'm okay with that.  I know that I AM still losing!  And, yes, I did sign up to do this again.  I think this 20 bucks is very well spent.  If anyone would like to get in on this Biggest Loser contest, let me know.  They take new people for 2 weeks before closing it off.  It runs for 12 weeks (costs 20 bucks), and there are three winners - most pounds lost, most inches lost, and most percentage lost.  All the monies collected is divided three ways.  The last time, I won over 90 bucks.  Would be nice if I could repeat!  AND - it could be YOU!!

On the way home, after I dropped Lynn and her kids off, I took the car through a car wash.  Believe it or not, it was driving me crazy, being as dirty as it was.  Today and tomorrow are both supposed to be above freezing, so why not?  After that, I stopped at Gold Star for my lunch and had my 5-way & coney for my lunch.  Ron had said he probably wasn't going to be home for a couple more hours, so - again - why not?   Besides I shouldn't have really spent the money on myself, I mean.  I do realize that, but I'm a little selfish every now and then, and enjoy a treat.

Then, it was home and I got venison out of the freezer, defrosted in the microwave, and started making our stew for supper.  Then, I start taking down Christmas.  Oh, how sad this makes me.  My most UNfavorite time of the year!!  Even though it isn't the 6th (Epithany) yet, I get started on it.  Everything I can reach, anyway.  I know that Ron won't be able to do the outside because he isn't home, so I can take my time!  I piddle here and there, just doing whatever, and play on the pute in the meantime, also.
He gets home just before three, and says, "Since it's 'nice' outside, I'm going to go ahead and start taking the Christmas stuff down."  I am dumbfounded!  The man just worked all day!  He's crazy!  But that's what he did - and he didn't stop until it was all down, because that's what he does.  Nuts - the man is nuts!  Of course, it is all just thrown into the garage into big piles - but it's down.  Wow.  So, I hustle up a little, and get the rest of the inside all taken down, also.  It is piled on the popcorn tins in the hallway.  I'll get it into the tins on Monday - tomorrow is already claimed! - and I got Ron to get the last two pieces I couldn't reach when he came in, and he did.  So - Christmas is gone.  Boo.
At intervals, I check on the stew and peel, cut and add the potatoes, cut the onions, open the cans of low-sodium veggies to have ready, etc. and all that, so we'll be able to eat at 6:30-7.
The playoff games started at 4:30, and everything stopped then (imagine that...) and that first game was quite fun to watch!  There ended up being 89 points scored in that game, and that is a LOT of points for a football game.
We do eat supper as planned, and Ron falls asleep not long after - just as I figured he would.  We had been invited to a birthday party tonight, but I didn't think he'd last very long after eating something.  I had let them know when we found out that he had to work today that it just wasn't going to work out.  Man, I hate that!

When I put all my food into MFP, I was very close to my calorie count - within 100, but still under.  Yay!

I have GOT to get myself back on track!  This has gone on long enough, I think.  It's been a nice little break, but - enough is enough.  Back to being 300+ short every night!  Bring it on...lol
