Church, food, football.
Yep, it's Sunday.
The last one.
Boo.
In two weeks, we will have the last football game of the season - the Super Bowl. It will be the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks, playing in the New York Giants' home stadium (which is really in New Jersey, hahahahaha), which should be interesting because it's been a while since a Super Bowl has been played outside - most of been in the 'safety' of a dome. Should - or could - be a doozy!
Not much else happened today. We got up, went to church, went down to Amelia to do some errands before the game, and went to lunch at Campbell's Barn. Luckily, the first game didn't start until 3 (I thought it was 1, but I was wrong. Yes, write that on your calendar.) so we had plenty of time to sit and enjoy our lunch. No hurrying, no rush home. So glad for that! Ron had his fried chicken (with sweet potato fries and onion rings), and I had a Country Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Neither of us ate the dinner rolls that came with our meals.
We got home and settled in to watch the games, ready for some rooting-tooting good times. Pshaw. Nuttin', as Yukon Cornelius says (or said). Just mediocre games. I expected good high-powered offenses and scoring, scoring, scoring. Boy, was I wrong. I guess all four teams did have a little bit of defense, also, to get where they were.
We made a pot of spaghetti to have for our supper. We cooked it slow, all afternoon long, and finally ate around 7. We hadn't had spaghetti for a long time, and it was very good! Sopping up the 'juice' with buttered bread probably wasn't the smartest choice in the world, but what's a kid sposed ta do? Can't lick the bowl, can we? Well....
I didn't put my food into MFP, but I did come write my blog - I couldn't let my loyal fans down, now, could I? (Watch out now - my head may start swelling...nah, it won't. This is my accountability.)
I'm trusting you guys will help keep me sane when my football is over! Whatever will I do? No football, no job, no money......ugh.
