I got up at my normal time for a Sunday - a little after nine - and took my shower, then Ron and I left for church, as usual. We were looking forward to today, because it was supposed to be nice today - up around forty degrees! After being single digits and no higher than 20 for a week, we needed this SO much. We were going be out and about this afternoon, even though "they" were calling for snow showers this afternoon, but we were going, by God!
After church, we went to Campbell's Barn for our lunch. Ron got his chicken dinner, and I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. I also asked about a donation for our Quarter Auction - that was our big project for the afternoon, getting the donations that I couldn't the other day - since the owner was always so cooperative with us, letting us have fundraiser days there and all. She did give us a donation! Yay! Then on down the road we went. On and on and on. I went to the places on my list, and a couple of places that weren't on my list that I thought just might donate (they were rather new businesses), too. And I ended up with seven or eight more donations. I was pretty happy with my work today. I still have to go back out one more time - I still have to go over to Eastgate and hit a few businesses over there.
This Quarter Auction is gonna be wonderful! If you don't have any plans for Saturday night, please come! It will be so fun, and who knows what you can win for your quarter?
On our way home, we stopped at Kroger to get Ron's tonic water and saw an old friend there and stood and talked for a while (probably half an hour). We found out another friend has been in the hospital since Thursday. How sad. But, what can we do?
We also stopped at WalMart for a new doorknob and a few groceries, and to return Corgan's new socks. They had inadvertently picked up ankle socks instead of crew socks, and I got the crew socks. Now he has plenty of socks here at our house!
We then stopped at Kate's Carry-Out to give Diane the donations I had collected today. She was tickled pink about the success I had! We stayed there gabbing for about half an hour, then headed on home.
We were right, too - it was an absolutely beautiful day. Up to around 45 degrees, sunshine - not one speck of snow, hallelujah! - all afternoon and gorgeous blue skies. It got toasty warm in the car. I had to take my coat off, even though I was getting in and out of the car, going in and out of businesses. It was very, very nice to do that in January!
So, we finally got home from church a little after five this afternoon. Wow!
We got the groceries put away, then settled in, in front of the TV for the evening. I, of course, got on the pute also. Ron made himself one of the frozen Chinese things that he likes for his supper, while I had a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup with a serving of pretzels for my supper.
Putting my food into MFP, I was 1 calorie short for the day! ONE! This going with less calories is gonna mean beefing up the evil E word!! I put in both my WalMart Walk and walking a slow-paced mile today for exercise, and this is what I got....I can't believe it....I guess I could have changed the 'calories burned' on either/or both of those, but I didn't think I did that much, so didn't 'push' the calorie thing on them. I am really gonna have to get off of my lazy ass to be able to do this 1500 calorie thing!! UGH. But...that's what I needed, wasn't it? The whole idea behind doing it....
