Out and about, enjoying the sunshine on this cold day....NOT!

Today my big plan was to go over to Eastgate and finish up getting donations for the Quarter Auction.  I was also going to a Quarter Auction tonight with my former co-worker and friend.  It was gonna be fun!
So, the big plan:  morning - play Happy Homemaker, have lunch, then around 2, go out and do my 'thang' then meet Kathy for a meal, then the QA.  Right?  Nope.  Of course not.  It started out okay, but soon started downhill.
As I was rinsing out the sink to do the dishes, it backed up.  No biggie, just swish it out with hot water - has always worked before.  Nope, not this time.  So, I have a sink FULL of soapy dishwater on the left, soaking silverware and glasses (right now), but the right-hand sink isn't draining.  Hmmm.  I go ahead and do up the glasses, and run more hot water rinsing them - thinking that hot water can't hurt.  I put the plates into the soapy water, and came in here on the pute.  After a few minutes, I went back out into the kitchen.  The right hand sink still has water in it!  Crap!  I got the plunger out of the bathroom, and it broke (we use it soooooo often...lol).  The handle just went straight down through the rubber piece.  Well.  Isn't that nice?  So, I wash the plates and rinse them, and got them in the dishdrainer.  I had run the water hot into the soapy side, so I let the water fill almost full in the right side.  I am still thinking that hot water is best to help...I am stubborn, I know.  I then put bowls into the soapy water, and run uptown to buy a new plunger and some Drano (or a generic equivalent).

When I get back, 12 bucks lighter in pocket, but with what I went up after, the sink was drained!  Yay!  I'm not as dumb as I look!  I went ahead and used the Drano stuff in the drain, just to be sure, rinsed the drain good with hot water, as instructed.  I then got a dirty dishrag out of the laundry room, and wiped out the sink (and threw it back in the laundry room), then went on doing the dishes.  I got the dishes done, but having to run uptown and all had thrown my day all off-kilter.  I didn't get out of here until 3, which wasn't really bad, considering.  I also didn't eat any lunch, trying to hurry and get the dishes done now, but I didn't really think about that until later.  OMG - "I forgot to eat!"  LOL

I got over to Eastgate and visited the places on my list, and got more donations from all but one place.  I was starting to feel a mite peckish, and got to thinking.  Wow, I didn't eat lunch.  I better do something about that, but I'm going to meet Kathy for supper.  I text her and find out she's not able to come tonight!  She's having serious vehicle problems and has been working on finding a ride all day, but nothing is coming together for her.  Well, phooey!  But...good, because now I can not spend this money!  Even though it's 4:30 or so, I needed to eat soon, not wait til I get home (even though I called Ron to see if he wanted to meet me somewhere up in Bethel.  I would have waited, but he said no) and cook something.   I decide to go to Steak n Shake, because I can get food for 4 bucks.  4 bucks is very good at this point.  Sitting down and enjoying a bite to eat is a very good thing at this point.  So, that's what I did.  I got a hot tea ($1.00) and a "less than $4.00 ($3.99) meal" - okay, I got an ice water, too.  So my "lunch" cost $5.33!!  Not bad at all, right?

I headed for home.
I stopped at WalMart, made duplicate keys for our new doorknob.  We get ourselves fancy keys - I get Bengals, Ron gets a guitar, and we made Josh & them all their own special ones, too.  I'd tell you, but I don't want to ruin their surprise(s).  They won't see their keys until this weekend.  Sorry...
I also stopped to give Diane the donations I had gotten today.  I have two more stops to make tomorrow, up Georgetown way, and then I will be done!  Hooray!  This has been a job, but I'm glad I am able to help.

As I was watching TV tonight, I had a snack.  I got two of the Pop Cakes (my Blueberry Cinnamon ones) and I put some peanut butter into a ramekin, and 'dunked' pieces of the Pop Cake into the peanut butter.  It was a very satisfying snack.
When I put "all" my food - yeah, I had soooo much food today, on top of the exercise (I claimed a WalMart Walk) - I was 350 calories short for the day.  I can live with that.  I'm sure I'll totally blow it tomorrow.

It's gonna be totally cold - freezing ass cold - please take care of yourselves, and each other.
Me?  I'll be going up to Winchester, helping my sister out.  Then coming home, and not doing a darn thing the rest of the day!  If I feel like it, I might - might! - ride that damn exercise bike.  Maybe.  Don't hold your breath.
