This morning, I woke up a little after 10. I read a little bit and finished a book, then started a new one, then finally got up. I opened the blinds in the bedroom and - sure enough, the weatherman was right for a change! There is snow falling, and it sure is beautiful. May not make for fun driving, but gorgeous to watch from inside. First thing I did when I got out into the house, after making my tea, was ride that damn exercise bike for a mile. Doesn't burn off many calories, but I've got to work back up to that now, since I've slacked off.
Ron called me not long after 12:30, saying he was on his way home already! I guess his winter hours are here already. What a bummer. Well, we will do what we can with what we have, and that's all we can do, and we'll do better in the summer months. Let whoever try to get blood out of these turnips!
I went ahead and got my lunch as I waited for him. I had my chicken salad and walnuts. He didn't want me to make him any lunch, I had asked him, don't worry.
We passed the afternoon as we usually do - him "not sleeping" in his recliner (playing the DS), and me on the pute. Then he finally went to take a nap, and wanted up at 6, so he'd be "able to sleep tonight." Oh, my, how I laughed (inside) at that one! I set my alarm to get him up, though, and came back out here.
Josh stopped and dropped off our football slips for this weekend, and gave me/us some cups for the Super Bowl party - they are football shaped! How cool is that!? We made half-assed arrangements to go shopping next weekend for ribs and wings for the Super Bowl party, too.

After he got up, we decided on supper. He had one of his Chinese frozen things with a creamy peanut butter sandwich, and I had a bowl/can of chicken noodle soup with a chunky peanut butter and orange marmalade (one of those single-packet things) sandwich. Whee.
Being Thursday, and no football, we watched game shows on TV all evening. Big excitement here, you see.
When I put my food into MFP, I was over 700 calories short for the day, but it's okay, because I had some Christmas candy during the day, too. Only about 5 pieces, though, and I'll be glad when it's all gone! I can resist the silly little candy dish on the kitchen table, but I can't resist my stocking candy. What's up with that?
I will take (and eat) a nut bar when I go to bed. I do NOT want to have a sugar low in the middle of the night!
I quite enjoyed the day - watching the snow accumulate throughout the day, knowing that Ron was home safe and not out driving in it. Also keeping an eye on the road out front, knowing that the ground was being covered, but the road was only wet, so everyone should get home safely this afternoon.
This is my kind of winter afternoon.
