I woke this morning to Corgan out here 'being quiet' playing a video game (as only 9-year-old boys do) and Ron cleaning out the fridge. Oh, my. I thought about going back to bed - Ron being bit by the cleaning bug? I'm staying out of his way! But, it ended up that he knew we had plans to go shopping for the ribs and wings for the Super Bowl today, and wanted the fridge clean. Why, I don't know because they were going out into the freezer, but that's my Ron.
We hung out here for a bit, me on the pute, they each finishing what they were doing.
Then we went outside and played in the snow for a little while. We had a lot of fun! Corgan really likes sledding down the little hill at the side of the house, and we have fun watching him. We each took a turn or two sledding with him, too, although we refused to go rolling down the hill like he did. We threw snowballs at each other, and fun stuff like that, then came back in when it just plain ol' got too cold. Us old geezers just can't stay out as long as we used to!
We had our lunch when we came in. Ron and Corgan each had egg sandwiches. Corgan and I had salami fold-ups (remember - casual setting, no rolling required), also. I had Pretzel Crisps (flat-ass pretzels!) with mine. I had a package of Cotto Salami, not the hard salami usually used, so Corgan had to argue (friendly-argue, thank God) with me over whether or not it was salami or not. I had to explain that there was a difference between Cotto Salami and hard salami, and once he understood that there was a difference, and understood that the Cotto was NOT bologna, he was okay with it. Damn Spock children!
We went back to hanging around waiting for Josh and Chelle to get there, so we all could go shopping. Josh and Chelle are going to help us out, sharing the cost of the meat for our Super Bowl party instead of buying and making separate dishes, since we all are trying to watch what we eat. We are cutting way - I mean WAY - back on the food for that very reason. I'm sure we'll still have too much, but not as much 'too much' as in past years.
Anyway, Chelle had worked this morning, so we had to wait until she had gotten home, showered, napped, and was ready to appear in public. Finally, they got here and off we went. We went to Sam's Club and checked out things there, then over to Jungle Jim's. When we left there, it was starting to snow! We decided to go up to Hibachi Grill & Buffet for our supper - for some reason, Chinese sounded good to everyone! They had never been there before, and it had been quite a while since we had been. Off we went. I think they LOVED it - they each had 3 plates, or was it 4? I was on purse watch while they were all gone for their first plates, and I suddenly had a sugar low. And I mean suddenly. It was a little frightening. I was fine, then I got hot, so I took off my long-sleeved outside shirt, then still hot and drank half of my tea. Then - poof - my hands were shaking SO bad. Luckily, Josh was close and called to him to go over and get me a dinky ice cream off the buffet and he did. I ate 5 or 6 bites and let the ice cream absorb in my body, and then I was fine. Whew. As I was getting my food, my knees were a little weak, but I was okay. It was strange, but I guess it was all the walking through those two cavernous stores. I'm glad we didn't walk through more of JJ's! Just the meat and the vegetables was too much for me today, evidently. I got my 2 plates of food - one cold (salads, desserts) and hot (food food) - and sat down for the rest of the meal. On the way home, we stopped at WalMart and I got a WalMart walk in, too, and I was just fine, except I got a hellacious cramp in my right calf as we were getting back into the truck to leave. Damn, do those hurt! I wanna go home!
We got home, got everything unloaded, got everything divided and they took off for their home.
We sure were glad to get there text saying they were home! We were worried. It took them a little over 45 minutes to make a 30 minute drive.
I did not put my food into MFP. I started to, but then MFP did not have salami roll-ups in their list of foods so I gave up. I suppose I could have listed everything else, and I may go back tomorrow and do that, but I didn't feel like it tonight. It wouldn't be the first time I have left 'one' item off my MFP list...lol.
So...we are just about ready for our Super Bowl party. Now to find out tomorrow WHO will be playing in the Super Bowl!! It will help to know what color to make the cookie football helmets....lol.
