A busy morning at home, an enjoyable evening out

Tuesday, December 17, 2013

First off, let me tell you something that I forgot to tell you yesterday.  Remember that I told you that I was forbidden to get on the Internet on my own computer?  I did finally figure out that little problem (all by myself, too!) and it was just a silly thing.  Josh had given me a tip or two to try, and when I got home from the library, I did try them, but they didn't help.  I remembered seeing an email from AOL saying that I was past due in paying them for December, which didn't make sense, because they are supposed to be an automatic withdrawal - and I don't have many of those, because I don't like them - but I had not noticed that it had not been taken out.  I only check my banking every couple of days, and match my checkbook up to it, and write down things I've missed.  (I know, I know...)  Anyway, I checked back, and sure enough, there was no December payment to AOL.  Well.  I called the bank to ask if they have any idea what or why.  Everyone is out to lunch or on conference calls, and will call me back.  Of course, it's not gonna be easy, is it?  About a half hour later, I get the call back, and she tells me that the last payment was November's.
Luckily, though, when it comes through, it comes with a phone number and she gives me that number so I can call them and ask all the questions I want - I love my bank ladies! - and hopefully, find out answers.  So, I call AOL and the answer?  My card on file expired the end of November.  They hadn't been able to reach me by phone (and that's our fault, too, because we aren't answering the home phone, especially if it is a 800 or 877 or some such number.  Only if it is local or recognizable.) and, so, no payment and no AOL, and that is my Internet connection.  I give them my new information, and all is cool.  Whew!

Now, today.  I woke up at 7.  SEVEN.  I made myself just lie there and I eventually dozed back off and I didn't wake back up until after 10:30.  It was one of those freaky sleeps, with weird dreams and hearing things and all that, that I used to do all night long.  Man, am I glad that doesn't happen now!

I got up and played Happy Homemaker - all the things I normally do on Mondays, but didn't do yesterday because of all the happenings and my doctor appointment.  Dishes, laundry, blah, blah, blah.
I also played on the pute and got my games all caught up, too.  Can't forget that!

Josh stopped to pick me up on his way home from work, because tonight is Corgan's Christmas concert.  It was supposed to be last night, but was postponed and rescheduled because of a snowflake or two.  Wow!  In December!  Them changing it has made me miss my TOPS Christmas party now.  Booooo!  I have had perfect attendance at TOPS since I've started going, and now - phooey - missing the Christmas party.  I just can't believe it, but - that's life.  My grandson's 'performances' are more important!
So -- no weigh-in to report tonight.  Sorry.
They made a chicken/rice dish for supper, which wasn't too bad.  They chose that for the sodium for Ron, which was very generous of them.  Chicken and rice neither one have no sodium, and the gravy that gets added is not that bad, either.  It was not that bad a dish either calorie or sodium counting!  I thought it was a little weird, putting beef gravy in a chicken dish, but it wasn't my dish so I didn't say anything.

Off to the concert we went, and it was very good.  Corgan is in third grade this year, and - believe it or not - he could still fit into the suit that was bought for him for the wedding we went to last summer (2012) in Oregon!!!  Now, I know the suit was just a bit large for him then, but - wow.  No one, not a single one of us adults, thought he would fit into it when he chose it as what he wanted to wear tonight.  It's a very nice suit.

After the concert, Ron and I came on home (Ron was very tired.  He had to go straight down there from work and was almost late) and he fell asleep pretty quickly in his chair.  I, of course, played on the pute.

I was over 500 calories short for the day, so I had a packet of sausage biscuits (2 sandwiches) as a late-night snack.  Probably not a really good choice, but it sure sounded good to me, and boy, did they taste good!  That put me at just over 300 short for the day, and I'm okay with that.

I'm giving food five stars, and exercise isn't getting any stars.  Surprise.
