The alarm clock got me up this morning, and I couldn't believe it was time already! It sure didn't seem like it. If you had asked me, I would have told you it was probably around 6:30, not 9. Man, that does not bode well for the day. But, I got my lazy ass up and got dressed and left right on time at 9:30 to meet my sister at 10 as planned. I stopped for gasoline in Hamersville ($3.09! - would have been 04, but I had to use my card, not cash...boo hoo) and on I went.
We got our shopping done, then went to Country Inn to have a bite of breakfast before heading our separate ways. She has a bad head cold, and said she didn't really feel like eating, but I convinced her that her body needed energy to fight that cold, so she finally agreed. She just got a small breakfast, but I got the large one that I usually get on Sundays. Boy, was it good! She had her daughter with her, but, contrary creature that she is, she had to get lunch! As we get older, I sure enjoy the time I get to spend with any of my siblings, isn't that strange? I find it strange, anyway.
As we were eating, Ron called me. Rumpke has messed up his paycheck once again. Why they do this every vacation - especially every fall vacation - I just do not know. Luckily, he was headed back to the garage, so I made plans to meet him back there after I was done eating to get this straightened out once and for all. And that's what happened. They reasoned out all that they had done - although they didn't explain anything they HADN'T done up til now - and what will be done to fix everything "next week" (once again - we heard this story last week). Hopefully, it will be fixed now. I speak English, not Ron. LOL
I got another phone call while out - we had arranged to get 1/2 of a deer from some friends. You know, one of those 'friend of a friend of a friend' things? They called to say that our meat was ready, can I stop to pick it up, and I said I would as soon as I get back to Bethel. Oh, man, we are looking forward to the freezer being a bit full of venison!
I got home, got the groceries and the venison unloaded and put away, and set about enjoying the rest of my day, which, of course, did not include any exercise, but rather play on the pute all afternoon. Sometimes I really wish that I would/could take naps on a normal day. Today would have been a good one for that.
I made venison tenderloins for supper tonight. I also made Ron a surprise for supper tonight - baked cabbage 'steaks' or slices. I sliced half a head of cabbage (just 3 slices) and brushed both sides with a mix of olive oil and garlic powder, then baked them in a 400 degree oven for about 5 minutes on each side. Actually, I just turned the oven off when I turned them over. We also had a bunch of raw veggies to go with the venison. He had broccoli and mushrooms, and I had celery, turnips, and a couple of mushrooms.
Later on, while watching football, we snacked on some peanut butter dipped pretzels that I had bought while out (we need a treat every now and then, right?) and that's been it for the day.
When I put it all in MFP, I was 300 calories short for the day, so I was happy with that. I thought it might be kinda close...
Food will get five stars today - it was wonderful! We haven't had venison in forever, and you can't beat raw veggies! Zilch for exercise. I am doomed for Saturday.
