Christmas Eve eve was a happy day!

Monday, December 23, 2013

I woke up this morning around 9:30.  Hooray - a decent time for me!
I ran uptown to get a bag of ice, picked up the three things on my little list, and headed for home.  Halfway home, I realized - I FORGOT THE ICE!  Geez!  The very thing I went uptown for!  Guess I'll go back uptown later, imagine that.
I made up the little treat I was making for my friend Bert, who is going to cut my hair for me this afternoon, so it's not so shaggy.  It doesn't look bad, but the shagginess is driving me crazy, and it's getting just long enough to blow in my face, and that's what led me to cut it in the first place.  I get on the pute and get my games caught up and just piddle around until Bert calls me and tells me she is ready for me to come over.  In the meantime, I have managed to get things packed & ready and have thrown away one of my lists!  Yay!  I feel as though I have accomplished something!  Of course, the last couple of things went from that list to the bottom of another list, but - hey! - I got rid of a list, and I feel good about that.

I got to Bert's, ran her up to Bethel for an errand, then got back to her house for my haircut, which took til chose to 3:30, which was fine.  I didn't have to be home until 4:30 - Josh was stopping on his way home from work, and I also had to stop in Bethel for my ice.  sigh.  My clippers hadn't seen the light of day in probably oh, 15 years or so and they needed a drop of oil to run correctly (lol - too funny) but then they worked just fine.

As I headed for home, Ron texted me that he is headed for home, and did he need to stop for ice? or did I get some this morning, but I let him know that I was almost at the store now, just go on home.  We got home at almost the same time - he was backing into the driveway as I got there.  How cool is that!
He had some news, too.  He is NOT WORKING tomorrow!  Wow.  Will be a little tough on the paycheck next week, but we will love having him with us (and not falling asleep!) for the whole day.  Okay, I, not we, for most of the day.  Picky, picky.

I went back uptown at 6:30 to do my weigh-in for TOPS for this week - remember, I missed last week because of Corgan's Christmas concert - and I have lost 4.4 pounds.  FOUR!  Even I am impressed with that!  Didn't expect that large of a number....I am going to totally enjoy Christmas now!
Came home and made Ron a new dish for supper.  Cook 6 slices thick sliced bacon crisp (I did this yesterday), and break into pieces.  He shredded half a head of cabbage for me.  Cook egg noodles (half a bag) in a saucepan.  I cooked chopped onions in the bacon grease, then added the cabbage, after a couple of minutes, added the bacon pieces, too. You could probably add whatever spices you want here - garlic, s&p, etc.  Let them all cook together as the pasta finished.  Then add the pasta to the mix.  (I was using my big cast iron dutch oven-like skillet.)  Let cook together long enough to get warm together.   He liked it!!   He complained about the bacon in it, at first, but he said it all tasted just fine together.  Of course he thought I cooked too many noodles, too - he always does.
For my supper, I made a grilled cheese with 3 slices of Colby Jack cheese and a bowl/can of tomato soup - the yellow tomato soup.  It was very yummy!  I then splurged and had the Jell-O that was left when I made the dessert cups for the party.  I had put it in bowls in the fridge, and was probably about a cup of green and a cup of yellow (yes, lime and lemon, and, yes, two separate bowls)  Jell-O.  Yes, with a squirt - just a squirt, I don't like much - of Reddi-Whip on it.

When I put everything into MFP, I was about 250 calories short for the day, even with dessert.

Five stars for food today, slacker me gets nothing for exercise.

This is my last blog until after Christmas.  I will be much too busy over the next two days to even be on the computer.
I wish each and every one of you a very special and blessed holiday.  I hope you receive what you wish for the most.  I thank each of you for the gift of your friendship.
