A GOOD 'bad' Sunday!

Sunday, December 8, 2013

Today started out really weird.
I did not sleep last night.  I stayed up watching mushy Christmas love movies all night.  ALL night.  Til 6am.  Yep.  6.  Then I made myself close my eyes when the next movie started, so that I could possibly sleep a little before Ron woke up and hollered at me.  I did succeed, and he woke me up a little after nine, so I got a little over 3 hours of sleep.  Whoo freaking hoo.  Oh, well, some days are like that - I should sleep tonight then, right?  Or maybe sneak in a nap during the afternoon game...maybe.  We'll see how the day goes.

Off to church we go.  The roads (we only go on 133 and 125, which is kinda nice) are okay.  Starting out was not the greatest in the world, because they don't treat 133 much, but 125 - the main east-west thoroughfare through town - was pretty clear.  The church lot, which was beautiful yesterday afternoon, was completely covered over.  The maintenance man, who worked outside all by himself all day yesterday, all that work, down the drain.  Phooey.  But...what can we, mere mortals, say or do?  The Higher Power calls these shots, not us.  We must deal with it.
After church, we do not have to go anywhere but home, and that is where we go.  Back home.  We make our own breakfast.  Eggs have no sodium, so they are okay for Ron to eat.  Potatoes have no sodium, so we make our own hash browns (which were awful - I didn't eat mine).  We did learn that homemade must - MUST - cook a lot longer than what we thought.  The sausage does contain sodium, but since we had busted the package and re-packed them in baggies, we don't know how much.  Ron had 3, and I had 4.  Sausage, eggs, hash browns, and toast.  Breakfast.   We got it done just in time for football!!  Excellent!

We were making venison stew for supper - we had gone to the store yesterday (in Felicity!) to get Low Sodium cans of vegetables for it - and we put the meat on when we got done with breakfast.  I cooked the meat in an iron skillet, then got the meat and the potatoes in the big pot right around 2.  I added the veggies at 3:30, then made biscuits at quarter til 6, so we ate pretty much right at 6.  Man, oh, man - was it good.  I had a big ol' bowl!!  I figured it was about 3 cups' worth.  The biscuits were killer, though. I should have just stuck with bread and butter.  Ugh.

When I put all into MFP, I was 500+ calories over for the day - and, yes, it was the biscuits!  Geez.  I have got to remember stuff like that.  We don't buy the diet bread for nothing...smh.

I am giving today four stars for food.  I'd say five, but I did go over on calories, and I'm not happy about that.  Exercise, once again, especially for a Sunday, gets nothing.
