Running-around, busy busy getting-stuff-done day

Friday, December 13, 2013

I woke up this morning at 8.  EIGHT.  Almost right on the dot.  My clock in the bedroom is set twenty minutes early, and it said 8:01, so.....there.  Phooey.  Needless to say - my eyes are burning and I am so ready to go to bed tonight, and it's "only" 11:30.  Plus, I had another sugar low this afternoon and ran around all day - I went to WalMart twice, and up to Georgetown - the store that used to be Pamida - once.  As well as making Ron and Corgan make a craft instead of sitting on their butts watching TV (or playing Wii), it was a pretty big day.  Go, go, go.  (no, not gadget...lol)

When I got up, I decided to run back down to WalMart to get Corgan some Warhead candy canes for the craft I had planned for us to do tonight.  He loves Warheads!  They must be his favorite candy, although he is starting to complain that they aren't sour enough anymore.  Crazy child.  I did walk through the store again - why not?, right? - and also picked up a few more Christmas items (of course).  Afterward, I was going to go straight home - it was only 10:30 - but then decided to go ahead and treat myself to breakfast once again.  We don't have 'extra' money very often, and I can spend a little on myself, can't I?  So, I went to Bob Evans and had the Sunshine Skillet and banana nut bread (once again) before going home.
Once home, I just played on the pute for a while - like all afternoon - until Ron texted that he was going to work late, so I called Chelle and asked her if she wanted me to get Corgan, or just wait til Ron was finally off of work for him to come get him, and she said if I wanted to drive to Georgetown, they would meet me up there.  So, I got dressed again and took off for Georgetown.  We met at Shopko - the store that used to be Pamida - and wandered around in there, looking at their Christmas stuff.
We paid for the stuff we bought, and Corgan and I headed for our house, and they headed for their home.

Ron finally got home after 6.  I had talked to him earlier about possibly going Christmas shopping for him tonight because there is supposed to be possibly 2" of snow falling overnight, and continuing until tomorrow afternoon, with an accumulation of 4" total.  If that happens, we sure won't be able to go shopping tomorrow morning!  When he came in, he washed up, changed his clothes, and off we went.  Guess where we went - yep, back to WalMart.
We got a very good start on his Christmas shopping, but since we left the lists at home, we didn't get very much done.  We are idiots!  After the shopping was done, we went over to the Barn for some supper.  He, of course, got the chicken dinner - and so did Corgan - and I got a bacon cheeseburger, with mashed potatoes, instead of the fries I get at lunchtime.
I had had a sugar low around 4, and had munched on this and that, including a banana while driving to Georgetown (I can't remember the other stuff!) and I just don't get it - when I have Bob Evans for breakfast - or lunch - on Sundays, this doesn't happen.  Why is it happening now?  Strange.  But, since these are the only two days I am doing this, I am not particularly going to worry about it.

We came back home after eating our supper, and then we got to make our craft.  We had so much fun making those little candy cane wreaths!  Corgan really liked the Warhead candy canes, Ron didn't particularly care one way or the other, and mine were just regular ones.  Ron's were pastel sour things, by the way.  I tried to get a variety of colors!  It took us about 45 minutes or so to make these, and we left them on the table so the glue could dry.  It sure better be dry when we get up in the morning!  We used tape where we could, but sometimes, good ol' Elmer's Glue is what hits the spot.
The fellas did a good job on theirs, considering that they are fellas.  Of course, I preferred mine - and my color scheme - the best one when they were all done.  <blush>
Then, the guys got on the TV and I got on the pute.  Yay!  Fun evening!  Fun family time!

When I put all my food - and the exercise - into MFP, I was 300+ calories OVER for the day.  OVER!  Wow - and I  couldn't even remember the snacks I ate when I had the sugar low!  Oh, well, I guess that will happen every once in a while.

I may have been over on calories, but today is getting five stars for everything!!
