Christmas Party!

Today started out to the sound of rain pounding on the roof.  Rain!  A week ago, we had a nice covering of snow everywhere.  A beautiful, picture-postcard Christmas snowscene, all ready for the holiday.  Pppppffffffttttt.  Out the window with that!  60+ degrees and rain now.  Ugh!  This is NOT Christmas weather!  It. Just. Ain't. Right.

Anyway, I got up around 10, got a shower and got dressed.  Ron and I had a bit of running to do - prescriptions, blah - and got that all done and had lunch at Bob Evans.  I had their half-sandwich combo for my lunch, while he had a breakfast.  We got back home just before 3, and I ran around like a chicken without a head, getting stuff down for the Christmas party we are going to tonight.  I am making desserts for the party, and I was going to make individual pineapple upside-down cakes, but that fell through, so I made a Christmas cake instead.  It's a white/red/green cake made in a bundt pan, with white and green glaze icing, with sprinkles on it.  It's really pretty both inside and out.  I had also spent all week making jello (in the clear cups) so that each cup had three different colors in it, and I had bought ReddiWip to squirt on top, instead of trying to blop Cool Whip, if wanted.  I also kinda got adventurous and had made a Christmas bark, with candies all in/on it, and candy cane & chocolate hearts.  These are small candy canes put together to form a heart, then melt chocolate and pour in the middle to hold 'em together.  They were kinda cute, too.

When it was time to get ready for the party - I had a spare 5 minutes - I splurged and dug out some of my 'sexy jeans' from the back of my closet.  You know, the ones I haven't been able to wear for x number of years because I gained weight again?  When I did my weigh-in for the Biggest Loser contest this morning, I had officially lost 30 pounds now, over the last 6 months, and I thought - what the heck?  Let's try... And - I fit into them!  So I wore them!
We had a wonderful time at the party.  We didn't expect otherwise, it's always a good time with this bunch of people.  Ron and I both didn't pay a lot of attention to what we ate - everyone brought a dish or two to the meal, just as we did, and we had no idea what was in what, so counting anything was impossible.  We did eat reasonable servings, and did not munch much, but we did not skimp, either.

We got home a little after midnight, and, of course, I got on the pute and he turned on the TV.  3 hours later, I'm still here, and damn, is that alarm gonna go off early in the morning!

Everything is gonna get three stars today!!  Excellent food, decent exercise.  Hey - I fit into my 'sexy jeans'!!!
