Today, I woke up around 9:30. No wake-up-and-go-back-to-sleeps. Just wake up and get up. I had tentative plans for today. Get to WalMart, maybe Meijer or Target, and get our Christmas finished. Food, gifts, the whole shebang. Get finished. It's all got to come out of this paycheck, so does it matter if I buy it today or wait until Monday? I didn't think so, and I don't particularly want to be in the stores over the weekend or on Monday (or even Tuesday! eek) AT ALL.
So, off I go. I decided to just go to WalMart. I just didn't feel like driving all over the place. My headache has been a bit worse than usual the last couple of days, and driving doesn't help. I love driving most of the time, but when I feel this way, I just don't. So I didn't. I did go to Bob Evans first for my lunch. We all know you shouldn't shop on an empty stomach, right? Three hours, a lot of dollars that I shouldn't've spent, and throbbing sore feet later, I was done. Our Christmas is complete! Well, except for all the wrapping and the making of the dishes and all. But - it's all bought!
I got back home, got it all carried in, the bags emptied and things put away (as put away as they're going to get) and try to settle down to play on the pute for a bit. Ron called. He's going to the bank, then coming home. That's good. After Mondays, Thursdays - paydays - are his worst days. And it's still kinda early, not even getting dark yet. I was going to really enjoy this time until he got there. Well, the peaceful time didn't last very long. My friend Bert called me. She is down at Kroger in Amelia and her car won't start. Can I come and get her? I ask her if she can wait, because Ron is on his way home, and it would be better if he can come, too. After all, he is the car dude. She said that would be great and she will wait for us, because she'd rather drive her car home if she can.
I called Ron to find out where he is, then went uptown to meet him. We went down and rescued Bert. Her car seems to have blown the fuel pump. Bummer. We unload her car, putting everything in the truck, and then take her on home. She and I make arrangements for me to take her back to her car in the morning so she can get it towed away and, hopefully, get fixed.
When we get home, I decide to go ahead and make some of the Christmas goodies I was going to make tomorrow tonight, so that I could take them to Bert and her mom tomorrow (gets a little more of them out of my house!) when I go over to pick her up. So I bustle around, doing that, and around 6:30, I start feeling a mite peckish, so I check my sugar, and yep, a sugar low (59). Phooey. I guess no more Sunshine Skillets for me. The last couple of times I've had them for lunch, I've had sugar lows. Something needs to change, and I guess I know what. I will have to check out the omelets or something. I eat 6 jelly beans, and finish up the goodies, and then have myself some supper. I had chicken salad, pretzels, and a banana.
There is no football on tonight. Boo. Ron and I don't like anything on on Thursdays, which was good because of football, but what are we gonna watch now? We end up watching game shows all night. LOL Are we lame or what?
When I put all my food into MFP, I was just over 300 short for the day. Yay! Back to normal! Of course, having some exercise to put in there for a change didn't hurt.
Today is getting five stars for everything!
I got so much accomplished! I feel very proud of myself. We are pretty much ready for Christmas - I still have to wrap, but I can finish that tomorrow or this weekend. Most of the goodies are done now, and will keep. I rescued a friend who needed help. Very. Good. Day.
